Advancement in the NJROTC program requires cadet's to maintain academic standards, participate in unit events, and pass a promtion exam. These requirements are well within each cadet’s capability and therefore, every cadet has the opportunity to earn promotion. Cadets can earn selection for Cadet of the Quarter based on their overall performance. The winner of each board earns two promotion ranks and a chance to earn the title of Cadet of the Year. Those who work hard and perform well above their peers could earn a Meritorious Promotion at anytime throughout the year at the discretion of the Senior Naval Science Instructor (SNSI).
