Hello, and thanks for stopping by! I am a Colorado native, an Arizona resident, and longtime citizen of Earth. After completing my BA in physics and astronomy at CU Boulder, I lived and worked for 3 years in Massachusetts before seeking sunshine and warmth in Arizona. It's getting a little too hot and a tad dry over here, so I am looking for my next adventure. 

When it's within my budget, I like to travel. After years of saving, my best friend and I finally made it to the UK and Ireland! I had three goals going in:

1. Find some sheep in the countryside. ✔

2. Drink good whiskey in an Irish pub. ✔

3. Enjoy a proper afternoon tea in England. ✔✔✔

In 2024, I look forward to seeing the total solar eclipse from outside Cleveland. 

Sophie has been my buddy since senior year in undergrad. Now over 13 years old, she's still as sassy as ever. I call her a "gateway dog" because her sweet and calm demeanor has won many people over, including those who used to be afraid of dogs. Sophie loves hiking and demands her daily walks.

Emma is now 6 years old and is definitely the baby of the family. She sighs and pouts and gives those puppy-dog eyes if she lacks sufficient love and attention, but she is eager to return that love with interest. Addicted to fetch and eager to hunt every last gecko in the backyard, she is full of energy and always ready to go.

The most recent addition to our family is Leonard Nemo. When he first arrived, he had nips in his fins and was easily startled. These days, he greets me in the mornings, begging for food as eagerly as the dogs. Goldfish are truly the golden retrievers of the aquaworld, and I hope to find him a buddy soon.

I love learning new things and have accumulated a multitude of hobbies over the years. Hiking and camping are regulars, but sketching and watercolor pencil are recent additions after taking classes at a community art center. I am also passionate about sustainability and taught myself how to embroider patches over rips and tears in my clothing. The result is so cute and makes me want to wear those items even more!

Other hobbies include: sewing, knitting and crochet, beadwork, refinishing furniture, martial arts, and gardening. Generally speaking, if it makes me feel self-sufficient, then I am interested in trying it out.
