"An invention has to make sense in the world it finishes in, not in the world it started."
-Tim O'Reilly
Why prototype? Prototyping is an essential process of manifesting the previous ideas of design into a physical model. Often times our imagination tends to neglect some of the realities of physics, so generating a model allows for the team to test the designs feasibility. Th Louiebot was prototyped with each subteam generating physical models to test the engineering/client criteria. All teams utilized a variety of engineering software; SolidWorks, Ansys, Arduino code, 3D maker lab. Finally, it is important to know that prototyping is quite often never perfect enough for a final design an many of the following prototype designs were modified for the final product.
