Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most prevalent endocrine disorders worldwide.
Its multisystem nature encompasses hormonal, metabolic, reproductive and psychological consequences, leading to significant impacts on both physical health and emotional wellbeing across the lifespan.
In this session, Maya will present an all-encompassing view of PCOS, exploring not only the physiological mechanisms that underpin the condition, but also the lived experience of women navigating its mental, emotional and social challenges. The session will equip clinicians to critically evaluate current diagnostic criteria and provide a consolidated summary of key evidence-based interventions that address both the symptoms and underlying pathologies which perpetuate PCOS and the associated long term health risks.

- Explore evidence-based herbal and nutritional compounds to support hormonal regulation, insulin sensitivity and ovulatory function in women with PCOS.
Maya is a member of the BioMedica clinical support team, is a degree qualified clinician, and is a passionate educator on natural health therapies. Her previous experience includes lecturing on health and wellbeing in the corporate space, clinical practise and practitioner education and training.
