This course is designed for students that have a strong interest in studio art and are considering studying art at a higher level. This course provides opportunities to create artwork in a larger scale and allows students to construct artwork in a chosen concentrated art medium. Students can develop their artistic skill in a chosen area such as drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, and sculpture. Students will be required to participate in art history research, sketchbook assignments, and to create a portfolio of their concentrated art medium. Students will also have the opportunity to participate and submit their artwork in community and college art exhibits.
