Hank Bryant, Director of Educational Technology and Innovation
Now entering my 9th year at Nashoba Brooks, I have had many fun opportunities to work with students, teachers, and staff across the whole school in a bunch of ways. Not only do I get to work with technology like our laser cutter and 3D printers in the Shilling STEAM lab, but I also design curriculum and collaborate with teachers and students. From 8th grade robotics to 4th grade Invention Convention to 1st grade bees I have my fair share of exciting projects that I get to be a part of. I also enjoy leading different clubs and sports like our emerging robotics program that I co-coach with Mr. Sedney. If you ever need some tech help, a creative place to work, or someone to brainstorm with, come on by the STEAM lab to see me!
Isabella Amparan, Librarian and Media Integration Specialist
One of my favorite things about my job is getting to work with students as they grow. I have the incredible privilege of teaching a dedicated library class to students from preschool all the way into second grade, and now in my third year I get to watch as my students transform hesitant early learners to confident, curious, and excited students. I’m also the voice behind preschool library icons: Foxy the fox puppet and Orla the owl puppet. Telling stories, creating lessons, working with teachers to explore new ed-tech are a few of my roles here at Nashoba Brooks. As a librarian and a media integration specialist, I work with both Hank and Laurie on the library and technology side of things, and I’m always excited to start new projects!
Laurie Taylor, Library Director and Transliteracy Integration Specialist
I am delighted to join Nashoba Brooks School and to work with the amazing IS team: Hank, Isabel, and Isabella! I have been a school librarian for 12 years and a library director for 2 years. My passion is connecting students to books and sharing the joy of reading. I enjoy teaching students to be curious and to make connections with the world around them. My goal as a teacher and a librarian is to ensure that all students feel included, respected, and valued. I love collaborating, sharing ideas, and teaching all students to be critical thinkers and use information responsibly. Please reach out if you need help finding books or would like to work together on projects!
Isabel Exstein, Instructional Technologist
I am excited to come back to Nashoba Brooks School as an Instructional Technologist for my third year! To me, the most fulfilling aspect about teaching is the ability to empower students. During the school day, you'll often find me teaching robotics, engineering, digital software, and coding to students in PS-2, as well as collaborating on a few integration projects with Middle School students. When I'm not directly teaching the kids, I'm helping co-develop curriculum with other teachers or troubleshooting technical hiccups. That being said, you're always welcome to reach out if you are experiencing any tech issues, have a idea for bringing tech to your classroom, or just want to chat!
