Reading Rockets is a research-based site that provides teachers and parents with information on how to teach struggling readers to read better. On this website, you will find resources such as articles, videos, and webcasts that will help build struggling readers’ fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.

Storyline Online

Storyline Online is a free website established by the SAG-AFTRA foundation. On this website, you can listen to famous people read-aloud high-quality, award-winning books. It also contains activities to do at home that go along with each of the read alouds.

National Geographic for Kids

National Geographic for Kids is a great website for animal lovers. On this website, your child can learn about animals by reading articles and watching a variety of intriguing videos.

Unite for Literacy

Unite for Literacy is a website where you can stream read-alouds of high-quality fiction and nonfiction text that your children will enjoy at home. At the end of each read-aloud, there are extension activities that will deepen your child’s comprehension and knowledge. Read-alouds can even be translated into other languages such as Spanish, Arabic, and Chinese.

Wonderopolis

Wonderopolis is a website where natural curiosity and imagination lead to exploration and discovery in learners of all ages. Each day, Wonderopolis visitors can explore the Wonder of the Day®—by reading an article and watching videos that investigate that day's question. Wonderopolis was created by the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) in 2010, and it has become one of the most popular education sites today.

The Nerdy Book Club

The Nerdy Book Club is a website that is home to an online community of people who love books for children and young adults. The Nerdy Book Club is organized and maintained by four teachers, including well-known author in the reading world, Donalyn Miller. Visit this website to find the annual Nerdy Book Awards, which are lists of the best books for children and young adults.

Epic! is the Netflix of books! For only $7.99 per month, you can have access to 35,000 of the best books, learning videos, quizzes, and more on Epic. Epic gives kids access to reading and/or listening to the newest, most engaging books. Epic is interactive and offers suggestions of books that students may like based on the books that they read. This website is designed for students 12 years old and younger.
