Classroom Expectations

In order to get the most out of the time that we have together, I have five expected behaviors from the students in my reading groups. See these expectations in the photograph to the left. Having these five expected behaviors creates a learning environment that is safe, respectful, and productive.

I highly value creating and maintaining a learning environment that has consistent routines and procedures so that students know what to expect when they come to reading. My goal is for reading students to feel welcome, safe to take risks, and know that their voices are heard and appreciated. As a reading teacher, my job is to guide and support students in becoming independent, strategic, and confident readers.
