Technique

Technique is a course offered to all NCHS students regardless of registration for a curricular choir. Students come in for half of their lunch period once a week to participate. 

Choir Technique at NCHS focuses on building the foundational and advanced technical skills that pertain to Aural Skills, Sight Reading, Reading Rhythm, and Vocal Technique. It is highly recommended that curricular choir students join at least 1 unit of technique. There is strong correlation between students who engage in technique excelling in auditions for advanced ensembles and extracurricular activities. Any extracurricular student not enrolled in a curricular music ensemble at NCHS is enrolled in Technique for the duration of their extracurricular.
