Since the time of yore, fifty years have thus passed. The Brewing Champion of Namron invites one and all to bring forth brews of golden goodness: meads, beers, ciders, and cordials.
In this Golden Year of Protectorate L, all who brew are called to bring forth their very best golden creations to compete for the honor of becoming Namron’s Brewing Champion.
There are four categories this year, as follows: Mead, Beer, Hard Cider, and Cordials. There will be a winner in each category, as well as an overall Champion. The winning brew from each category will stand before Their Excellencies, who will determine which entrant shall be named Namron’s Brewing Champion.
It is possible for one entrant to win all four categories, so bring forth your finest Beer, Mead, Hard Cider, and Cordial.
Judges will be looking for the following information:
Ingredients used
Presentation
The process of adding those ingredients
Date of first rack, including gravity measurement and potential ABV%
Date of final rack to bottle, including gravity and final ABV%
The name and type of yeast used
Hard Cider, by definition, is made from apples or pears. All other fruits would, by definition, produce wine rather than cider. Therefore, only apple and pear ciders will be accepted in the Hard Cider category.
All brews will be judged on flavor profile and clarity.
Please state whether your entry is best served cold, chilled, or at room temperature.
As Namron’s current Brewing Champion, I know that to produce a brew worthy of competition takes time to ferment and age. Therefore, I am announcing this in October 2025 to give you roughly a full year to prepare the best of the best—a 50-Year Anniversary Golden Brew.
Good luck, happy brewing, and I look forward to tasting all that is entered. I shall see you all at the competition at Protectorate.
In humble service,
Magnus Skogr
