Programming defined: The school district decides locally what the specific indicators are that identify students as having "high potential" and designs curriculum to meet these learners' needs. STMA offers high potential programming for reading and/or math (grades 3-8), as well as additional options at the high school level.
Enrichment defined: The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) defines enrichment as, "Activities that add or go beyond the existing curriculum. They may occur in the classroom or in a separate setting such as a pull-out program."
