How PBIS & SEL Work Together

The social-emotional learning (SEL) program teaches the skills needed to meet the expectations of our positive behavior process, Be A Spartan.

By understanding our thoughts and feelings (Emotional), we can better understand the thoughts and feelings of others (Social). This allows students to experience empathy and compassion for self and others and contribute to a school community that is Safe, Respectful, & Responsible.

Additionally, when students’ wise choices for self and others (SEL) are positively reinforced (PBIS), the entire school climate experiences a virtuous cycle of continued growth and flourishing. Not only are students nurtured and care for, so are teachers, staff, parents, administrators, and community members.
