I was born in Tampa, Florida. I grew up in the St. Petersburg area and went to college at St. Petersburg College. Then, I attended University of South Florida. I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. I was a Grocery Store Manager for 8 years in California. Upon returning to Florida in 1999, I discovered my love of teaching others. I took continuing education courses at Florida Southern College and became a certified teacher. I have taught Elementary level 1st through 5th grades. My favorite grade is 3rd grade.

I married in 1985 to my husband, Gary Jones. We have three wonderful grown children. They are all successful professionals. My husband and I love to travel around the country during the summer. We both love teaching chess to children during the school year.
