All about Mrs. Heitzenrater (Mrs. H)

Hello, and welcome to “SEUSS-TASTIC” third grade! My name is Mrs. Amanda Heitzenrater. I would like to start out by giving you a little background knowledge about myself . I was born and raised here in Lakeland, attending local public schools for my education. I graduated from Collegiate High School at Polk State College in 2005. I earned my Bachelors of Science degree for Education in 2014 from Florida Southern College. I married my husband (Mr. H) in July of 2012.

While obtaining my degree in in education I worked as a bus attendant with transportation for Polk County School Board. I always knew I wanted to work with children, and help them grow into wonderful lifelong learners. This dream came true in 2014 when I began teaching third grade here at CODE. I have been teaching third grade for seven years now. I am excited to expand my teaching to skills to not only reading this year, but also to math and science. For the past six years, I have been a departmentalized reading teacher here in third grade.

I am so excited to have you here in third grade! Students will be expanding their love for reading through the use of Reading Workshop. Students will realize how much they love to read... exploring all the wonderful places you can go just by opening a good book!

I hope to instill the same love for learning and reading that I have into each and one of my students. This school year, we will focus on building our passion for reading!
