The California State University (CSU) system is the largest higher education system in the country. It is composed by 23 campus. Humboldt State is the most northern campus, while San Diego State is the most southern. All CSUs offer 4 year programs and its total system has around 482, 000 students in total.
CSUs offers undergraduate and graduate programs. In other words, for freshman students they offer bachelors degrees and for those who have achieve their bachelors degree, the offer masters and Ph.Ds. degrees. In the CSU system you can find different major programs like, teaching, nursing, just to name a few. Each CSU campus offer different majors and minors, but you can find majors like Zoology, Art History, Physics, Sociology, Business, and Phycology.
Besides academics, they also offer athletics and extracurricular activities like clubs, football, basketball, and baseball teams.

The cost of attending a CSU depends on the campus and the financial aid the student gets.
The tuition fees are set by the CSU system and an academic year with 6 or more units can cost $3,300 to $5,742. On top off that, you might have to pay specific fees based on the campus, and pay for personal needs, making the price increase.

To pay for your CSU education you can fill out FAFSA or Dream Act application, to receive financial aid. Based on your FAFSA application, you can also receive Cal grants based on your GPA and it doesn't need to be paid back. You can also obtain scholarships that will help you pay or take out student loans.

The application is due on December 4, 2020 and if you are applying for the EOP program the application is also due this date for most campuses. However, some campuses have a different due date for the EOP program and you should verify.
To apply for the CSUs system you will need to have your A-G requirements done and a GPA of at least 2.5. Meaning, if you have a lower GPA it might not be convenient to apply.
Keep in mind CSUs will not ask you for letter of recommendations, unless you are applying to the EOP program, and SAT/ACT scores are not being asked for.
Cal State Requirements for Freshman
The application consists of 4 sections:
The first section will ask you simple question about you and your family. For example, your basic information, and your parent(s) educational level, etc.
Second section will al ask you to report your high school courses and grades, including the courses you are taking/planning to take throughout your senior year, so you should have your transcript with you and be honest.
Third section will ask you for extra information, like if you'll be applying to the EOP program and if so you would be asked additional questions.
The fourth section will ask you to choose your major and campus, so be ready with your campus and major selections.
