Writing Terms to Know
A.C.E.2.C:
Students will be expected to write responses to text using A.C.E.2.C.
What does it stand for?
A - answer all parts of the question
C - Cite textual evidence to support your answer
E - Explain your evidence
2 - Cite and Explain another text
C - Connect your response back to your answer
Focus Notes:
Students will be expected to take notes using a 3 column format of Focus Notes.
What is it Focus Notes?
Step 1: Take Notes - Write an essential question and key details from text.
Step 2: Process Notes - Highlight main ideas and underline unfamiliar words.
Step 3: Make Connections - Write a question about the text (ex. something you wonder or would like to know) and make a real world connection to the text (ex. something the text reminds you of)
Step 4: Summarize - write a 1-2 sentence summary of the text (refer back to your essential question)
