Assignments/Grading

Types of assignments in Google Classroom:

• Focused Notes (2 points)

• Daily Interactive Notebooks (2 points)

• Spiral Review 3Pi Response (4 points)

• Google Forms Tests (point value varies)

Light-weight grades:

Any assignment that is given a 2-point value or less in Google Classroom is considered light-weight and the effect of not completing these assignments is more subtle/long-term. These are formative assignments that can receive guidance as we explore new material and practice skills/concepts.

Heavy-weight grades:

Any assignment that is given a 4-point value or more in Google Classroom is considered a heavy-weight. These are typically:

• Tests

• Projects

• Spiral Review 3Pi Responses

The effects of not completing these assignments is immediately noticeable and can drop a grade quickly. These are summative assignments that are done INDEPENDENTLY to show what each student HAS LEARNED.
