We have a morning snack each day. Please supply your child with a peanut free snack each day. Pack the snack seperate from any cold lunch box. Here are a few helpful tips for healthy snacks.
Bring a snack each day that can be interdependently opened.
Kids benefit ( in behavior and learning stamina) best when the snack is a whole food not a packaged processed food.
Kids love berries, cherry tomatoes, apples, clementines, cheese sticks, yogurt, cut up veggies, small sandwiches, pickles, cucumbers, olives, sausage sticks, turkey slices, hard boiled eggs, and much more.
Refrain from packing processed foods like chips, cookies, and even some types of crackers. These are not the best choice for their stamina.
They may bring a water (no sports drinks or juice boxes) to have with snack.
Start the day with a healthy breakfast that includes protein.
You may pack a cold lunch for your child or choose hot lunch.
The hot lunch menu can be found on the school website. In the morning students tell me if they are having hot or cold that day. Please help them know before they leave for school each day if they are having hot or cold lunch.
After lunch we enjoy rest time.
