The Hazel Park High School band program has a long history of excellence. Students in the high school band program can expect to work hard and have fun making great music! Band students at HPHS have no shortage of opportunities in the music world, ranging from performing with our 8-time state finalist marching band to entering Solo and Ensemble, performing with local honors bands, and so much more!
Transitioning to High School Band
When deciding whether to continue in band, the most important thing we want you to know is that it will not suddenly become crazy hard just because you hit high school. Our director, Mr. Lee, will take great care to meet you where you are and work with you throughout the year to develop your musical skills. We want band to continue to be fun as you transition into your high school days!
Students who are interested in more challenge may audition for placement in the Symphonic Winds, which is the premier band at Hazel Park High School. You can find out more about this ensemble on the Concert Ensembles page.
