This survey served as a baseline for our work in Level 1 at Grand Forks Central High School. The GFC HRS Committee found this especially useful in determining what our lagging indicators needed to be, as well as the areas of improvement and/or communication needed at Central. Comparing this data to that gained from our short surveys in the spring has been especially gratifying and useful.
98% of staff perceive GFC as a safe and orderly environment.
In the fall of 2018, the counseling department received a district grant for our Kindness Campaign. As part of the Campaign we wanted to focus some of our efforts on staff morale. We worked with Mr. Trevor Lennon and his Video Production Class to create the video. Recognizing that when staff feel as though they are part of something bigger and are supported by one another, their mental health is boosted, which then in turn, gets passed down to our students. “We are GFC” was to remind everyone that not only are we part of the GFC Family, but that we represent GFC and are all in this together!
While our grand entrance and halls are filled with beautiful marble and we have the honor of being the oldest school in North Dakota, it is the unique individuals of GFC that collectively make it the special place it is today!
We inspire greatness!
We encourage success!
We are the finest in Dakota!
WE ARE GFC!
Our School Resource Officer, Corporal Kaiser delivered Option Based Lockdown Training to our teachers during periods 5,6,7, and 8. The session was also recorded for teachers who were not able to attend and they were asked to reflect on the recording and slide show.
We are a hide, run, fight district and we continually discuss having multiple options. If the first option is not available, having the second option.
