At Parks, all students will have an opportunity to identify their talents.
7th Grade Students: Every 7th grade student will have an opportunity to take (or, retake) three Thrively strengths assessments in either their ELA class or their Pathfinder class.
7th grade students who already took the assessments in elementary school: Even though several Parks students took the Thrively strengths assessments in elementary school (during their 5th or 6th grade years), at Parks, we want all 7th grade students to take the assessments again. By taking the assessments again, all 7th graders have an opportunity to see where they are consistent with their talents or where a great deal of change has occurred. A few students might notice that their "Top 5" stayed the same while others will notice that their "Top 5" changed drastically.
7th grade students who are taking the assessment(s) for the first time: Several Parks students are taking the three Thrively assessments for the first time. They will learn about their "Top 5" strengths, plus the THOMAS and MIDAS assessments will give them knowledge about their strongest habits of mind and multiple intelligences. See Thrively.Com for further research regarding the two strengths assessments.
8th Grade Students: At Parks, 8th grade students will have an opportunity to revisit their strengths during the ELA classes in the month of September. Students will have opportunities to identify their greatest talents, consider/reconsider strengthening those talents or others, and research opportunities that support their skills in the areas of their talents!
