"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."
What differentiates Discovery from many other schools in the area? There are so many answers to this question. Undoubtedly one of the ways Discovery stands out is the "extra", hands-on opportunities presented to our students. These extra enrichments bring learning to life and make it fun and engaging. This hands-on learning includes field trips (9 per year per class), classroom enrichments (led by passionate parents), and after-school activities.
It’s better to see something once, than to hear about it a thousand times. Discovery truly takes this message to heart and integrates at least 9 field trips per year into the class curriculum. This gives our students hands-on opportunities to build connections between classroom learning and the "real-world".
At Discovery, we believe parents play an integral role in learning. One way this is realized is through parent-led classroom enrichments. Enrichments are educational opportunities in topics beyond the core curriculum (e.g. gardening, cooking, music, etc.).
Want more? Discovery also brings additional educational experiences beyond the school day through after school activities. These programs provide students with the chance to learn about a myriad of topics such as coding, soccer, chess, art, drumming, etc.
