Hello! My name is April Ann Jaranilla Lloren. I have a strong passion for language and cultural exchange, and I always try to create a learning environment where students feel supported and confident. My teaching philosophy is simple: students learn best when they feel safe to try, make mistakes, and use English in real situations.
For me, language learning is not only about grammar or vocabulary. It is about communication and meaningful connection. Here in Taiwan, I am excited to help students move beyond textbook English and use the language in daily life. I see myself not just as a teacher, but also as a guide who helps students discover their abilities and develop a genuine interest in English.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English and have been a Licensed Professional Teacher in the Philippines since 2017. Before moving to Taiwan, I taught for six years at Kimamon Elementary School, gaining valuable experience in the public school system.
I also completed two MOOC professional development programs—Teachers Trainer and Integrating Critical Thinking Into the Exploration of Culture in EFL Settings—under the American English E-Teacher Program by Arizona State University. In addition, I pursued my master’s degree in English Linguistics at HCDC in the Philippines. I also hold TEFL and TESOL certificates, which strengthen my skills in teaching English to different types of learners.
