Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming education by enhancing learning experiences, personalizing instruction, and supporting students in developing essential skills like problem-solving and information literacy. In higher education, students increasingly interact with AI-driven tools, from writing assistants to adaptive learning platforms, making it essential for faculty to understand its potential and limitations. It is especially important to prepare our students for an increasingly AI-driven workforce, ensuring they have the digital literacy and critical thinking skills needed to navigate and succeed in their careers. Incorporating AI into teaching supports student engagement, fosters inclusive and equitable learning environments, and enhances assessment strategies.
Participants who choose AI as their project category may use a self-selected AI tool or work with their TLi partner to identify a tool that matches their project idea. AI projects should focus on ways to leverage AI to engage students in critical thinking and reflective learning. AI-related Learning Design Projects may:
focus on developing AI literacy with students
build an engaging course-specific AI bot in PlayLab
use AI tools to create engaging experiences for student
your choice!
We will help you:
Explore instructional uses for different publicly available AI tools
Evaluate considerations for protecting personal information and data privacy
Generate ideas and provide a sounding wall.
Test/explore activities to engage students in creative and critical thinking
We want this to be an enjoyable creative project. This is an ideal tool for you if, you:
Have spent a little time playing with some AI tools
Have an interest in exploring AI with your students
