"(The teacher) is so kind and loving toward the kids. Killian looks forward to all his calls with her and the class. The work seems appropriate and he likes school which I think is so important."

"We have really enjoyed BV DOO. We are able to work at the times we need, have video calls with the class and teacher, offered office hours, reliable teachers, and adapted learning. My child has been able to review the lesson if she needs more help and the teacher has small group times to help with areas that she isn't getting. The lessons are fun and the teachers can adjust the lessons to be feasible with the due dates. We are happy and feel lucky to be in a district with a great format from Florida Online but especially having a teacher from our school teach each grade as well. That is the most valuable of all!"

"We appreciate the flexibility BV DOO offers. We can complete school work throughout the day at our own pace. It has really helped us adopt a positive work-school-life balance during the pandemic. I am grateful for this alternative. BV DOO is a great fit for my family's needs at this time."

"(The teacher) has been doing an amazing job keeping the kids engaged and socialized in several group meetings throughout the week. We have a clear schedule to follow each day and the workload keeps us appropriately busy. We are very grateful to have the opportunity to complete our schoolwork in the safety of our own home. It has been great to be able to be involved with everything my child is learning and to be able to focus on areas that need extra work. (The teacher) is great at getting information to us when we have questions or problems. We loved having spirit week. We love being able to send pictures in of what and how we have been learning. I am so happy with the BV DOO option. The flexibility, the curriculum, the safety, and (the teacher) has made this a great experience that we will continue with as long as it is offered."
Family of a 2nd Grade Student
"Although the year started off rocky and chaotic, the BV DOO staff were very flexible in making quick adjustments to make the new platform much easier to navigate and helped determine what was really needed and what was not. The flexibility to get things done at times convenient for our family, as well as having live sessions throughout the week, has been a great mixture."

"The BV DOO teachers are amazing! My daughter loves the live class sessions... I love the flexibility that Emme has to do the weekly lessons and work at her own pace. My daughter has always loved school so I was worried that being 100% virtual may dampen her love of learning. Instead, thanks to all the hard work BV DOO staff has provided, she continues to flourish and looks forward to learning new things!"
Family of 4th Grade Student
"We love our BV DOO teachers and administrators! They are some of the most hardworking, encouraging, and patient people we know. We are truly thankful for the time and effort they have put into making the program as student-focused and user-friendly as possible. Some of our favorite parts of the program are the self-paced lessons and the live classroom meetings. Our children have learned a lot and feel very connected with the other students in their homeroom classes. "

"My child is not just succeeding in BV DOO; they are thriving. Learning this year through BV DOO has been absolutely revolutionary. Attending classes remotely, in a comfortable environment, without the distractions of a classroom, makes learning easier. My child can focus on their difficult parts of the lesson and speed through the parts that they've already mastered. (The teacher) is a partner in all of this, frequently in touch with me and my child. One assessment from the outside company was not a reasonable expectation for my child to complete; (the teacher) met my child in person and assessed their understanding with a physically distanced, masked, outdoors interview. My child feels safe. They are supported emotionally, academically, and physically. They are even receiving multiple interventions remotely, an opportunity that wasn't available to them last year. They are learning far more than the curriculum. They are learning about attending meetings, file management, how to use technology to support their disabilities, how to ask for help, and how to manage their time. It's developing a spirit of independence that isn't possible to cultivate in a typical school day. They're not hesitant to log into a teacher's office hours just to chat."

"The teachers have been absolutely amazing. They have provided such a positive experience for the parents and kids. Every step of the process, they have worked hard to make things easier for their students. Their communications have kept the parents in the loop so we understand their process and any changes necessary to improve the kids experiences. When the workload was overwhelming at the beginning of the year, the teachers listened to parents concerns and then made adjustments so that a manageable amount of work was assigned. This truly would have been a much tougher year without such high-quality, caring teachers. They are the heart of BV!"

"As a parent, I really like the Buzz program. It is easy to navigate for both my daughter and I and it is way more organized. I think it is more organized than the Schoology program that we had to use during the Spring when the pandemic started and would HIGHLY recommend keeping it for those doing BVDOO (coming from someone who took college classes online). (The teacher) has been fantastic in getting back with me through e-mail and has also (gone) above and beyond to help my daughter succeed in math online and utilizing Google Meets (which I was worried about math online for my daughter from the beginning). Those two factors have helped TREMENDOUSLY in giving us a positive experience in BVDOO!"
Family of a 6th Grade Student
"The course work is easy to navigate. Teachers are great about responding to students!"
Lilah (Grade 6)
"I have been working with BV DOO for about 5 months i think and even though its hard sometimes to focus and really concentrate I have been blessed with one of the best teachers that could help me actually focus and get answers right. I am proud to go through this experience because I think I am stronger and better at understanding now then what I was."
Brooklyn (Grade 7)
"My positive experience is when I don’t understand something the teachers really help you and really give you resources to help you understand!"
Alison (Grade 9)
"It was a really good challenging course, providing a good curriculum for online students to follow and challenge them even if they're not in school."
Marissa (Grade 10)
"I have had many positive experiences with the BV DOO teachers. When issues have (arisen) with Buzz, the online learning system, advisors have done everything in their power to handle the issue quickly and with ease. They have helped me with any questions or concerns I have had and understood when blocks in the road appeared."
Autumn (Grade 11)
"This semester while using BV DOO I have been able to work on my assignments on my own time and in a way so that I can best understand them. It has been easy to get in contact with my teachers when I have had questions and receive answers quickly. I am looking forward to continue working with BV DOO... "
Emily (Grade 12)
"The BV DOO experience has been incredibly positive for Autumn and our family. We love the flexibility that it provides. So far we've been able to easily work around dentist appointments, trips to the zoo, parent work schedule changes, headaches and illnesses, family emergencies, and her older siblings' visits home from college. BV DOO not only allows for the flexibility in scheduling, but also in personal productivity. She can work on the more time consuming and focus-driven lessons and assessments when she's feeling most attentive, and save the more fluid and creative assignments for those times she's feeling restless. She is able to work at her own pace and devote extra time to the lessons that are most difficult, while being able to move on quickly from those that she grasps without issue so her overall "school boredom" has relatively vanished. The teacher's approach to the lessons, assignments, and assessments makes certain that the students have been given every opportunity to really learn the material before moving on to the next lesson. The independent assignments are allowing Autumn to embrace her creativity and problem-solving skills by encouraging her to look for inspiration and resources from her everyday environment. While the primary reason for our choice stems from the current pandemic, the difference in her overall mental health this year compared to last is profound. The support, feedback, encouragement, and engagement of her teachers and the administrator are outstanding."
