Muddy Math and Mrs. Roth
Brain Science Hand Model
Students should spend 2.5 hours a week reviewing previously taught math concepts. Each Monday, an assignment will be posted in Google Classroom. The assignments are also available on the district website: www.barnstable.k12.ma.us/Page/4916.
This assignment includes suggested activities to fill this 2.5 hour time of remote math learning. Students should submit their responses to the six reflection questions each week and add photos or scans of their work. Reflections and work are due to their teachers via Google Classroom by the following Sunday.
Please email me with any questions.
Questions due each week:
1.What did you complete?
2.What did you struggle with?
3.What did you find difficult about learning like this?
4.What did you like about learning like this?
5.Describe your experience.
6.What is your suggestion for next week’s learning choices?
Muddy Math is a resource for you all to pursue your curiosities as young human mathematicians. Nothing posted to my YouTube channel is required for any student. This is an optional resource for everyone. Please email me requests for videos on specific topics! I am here for you.

Explore our Big Ideas platform. The skills trainer is a quick tool to encourage students to stay fresh on skills they have already learned. Encourage students to reach back to previous grade levels. Fluency in learning builds a foundation for risk taking and collaboration when students face new concepts. Celebrate moments of struggle and straight up have a dance party when your student breaks through that muddy moment by persevering and using a new perspective to understand and solve a problem using a mathematical mindset.
