Julie DiPilato - Science Teacher
This is Mrs. DiPilato's 11th year teaching at Barnstable Intermediate School. She has taught both math and science in grades 6 and 7. Prior to teaching at BIS, she was a technology teacher at a private school on Cape Cod. She has two sons, 19 and 21 years old, and two grand-puppies.
Samantha Flynn - Math Teacher
Hi there! Miss Flynn is so excited to bring math to life this year. She has been teaching math since 2011 from Costa Rica, to Baltimore, and now here on the Cape. Math is always on her mind, as she is trying to relate middle school concepts to the experiences of her students. Check out her YouTube channel for math tutorial to help clear up concepts while at home. She has math glossaries available on her website, too! Miss Flynn is a new mom and is looking forward to bringing this new perspective on life to meet the needs of all of her students.
Timothy Hurley - History Teacher
This is Mr. Hurley's seventh year teaching at Barnstable Intermediate School and his second teaching 7th grade Ancient Civilization History. Altogether, this is his 20th year teaching with 17 of those years spent in the field of special education. Personally, Mr. Hurley has three boys of his own at home. Currently they are in 3rd grade at BWB, 7th grade right here at BIS, and 9th grade over at BHS.
Royale McCormack - English Teacher
Mrs. McCormack has been teaching English for nearly twenty years. She loves reading, sailing, and spending time with her husband, daughter Catalina who is 5, and son Teddy who is 3. She is excited to be on Team 7I this year, and looks forward to working with each student and family to generate a great deal of success.
Vanessa Nunes- Special Education Teacher
This is Mrs.Nunes' 2nd year teaching Special Education at Barnstable Intermediate School but her 5th year working in the BIS building. She grew up in Barnstable and attended Barnstable Public schools. Personally, she is married with 2 boys. Her oldest son, Anthony, is a student at BUES and her baby, Bishop, is 1 and a half and attends the Barnstable High school child care.
