Challenge:
Create a resolution so both Collin and Suzie feel heard.
Theory:
Apply persuasion methods when communicating with Collin, identify communication barriers with Suzy, problem solve selective perception
Actions to Resolve:
We think it would be very beneficial for Suzie to use the 7 C's. If she were to have a one-on-one sit down with Collin and be clear, concise, concrete, correct, coherent, complete, and courteous. (Andrade 2020).
During this one-on-one sit down, we would like to have managers present to be mediators, help the conversation be respectful, and ensure it is following the 7 C's.
Takeaways:
As the mediators, be sure that both sides are heard.
Give full attention- This includes trying to eliminate all distractions. Be sure the focus is entirely on the problem at hand.
Do not interrupt- As the mediator, be sure that both people are given equal amounts of time to share their feelings.
Remove Biases- As the mediator it is important to not have a bias towards either people. Be sure to be fair and equal in all mediating.
