You're going to run into questions in this course. That's expected; we are learning A LOT together in this course! I want to let you know I am here to support you as you work through the course. Below you'll find the different ways that you can contact me, and how I'm planning to help you. Please don't hesitate to reach out for help if you need it!
During the typical semester, virtual Office Hours will be held weekly via Zoom on most Fridays 1:00 pm-2:00 pm. Office Hours are a drop-in opportunity for you to get your questions answered, get help with your coursework, and/or check in with your colleagues and me and hear about what we are all learning. If you're unable to make office hours, no worries, you can book an individual appointment with me using the following links:

You can also post general questions and comments in the 'Questions or Comments About Unit X?' discussion forums that are available at the end of each unit. This is a great way to get various answers to the things you're wondering about from us and your colleagues. I will check our Q&A forums 3 times throughout the week, so you should receive a response within 2 days. If you don't, don't personalize; please feel free to reach out again.
If you'd like to contact me privately, you can use the Conversations tool within Canvas by clicking on the Inbox button on the left. I will do my best to respond to Inbox messages within 24 hours during the week. If you don't, don't personalize; reach out again.
I prefer that you use the Canvas inbox to message me privately so that we can keep track of your messages and so that you can get some experience using the Inbox tool in this course. But if you ever need to email me, that works too! I do my best to respond to emails within 24 hours during the week. If you don't, don't personalize; reach out again.
If you have no option but to text me, do. 650-269-8486. Please introduce yourself and include the course's name and number.
These will outline our due dates, and share course updates and new or interesting information I've found that I think you might find helpful. I'll also highlight your wonderful ideas, suggestions, and work in these announcements as well.
I try to give feedback on all of your work the week after it is due. If you submit something late, we might not get back to it for two weeks, but I do my best to go back and catch late submissions. If you submitted something over a week ago and you haven't gotten feedback on it, feel free to send us an Inbox message to check-in. Also, please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions about the feedback I've given you. We're happy to clarify our feedback whenever you need us to!
I will be reading your graded discussion posts and doing my best to respond to at least each of your initial posts. We'll also send out summaries of our discussions every few weeks, so we can keep track of all of the wonderful things we share and discover together there.
If you happen to fall behind in the course, you might get a check-in message from me to see if there's anything I can do to help you continue in the course. Keep an eye out for these, and if you do need any help, don't hesitate to let me know!
