Course Schedule

This schedule might change, but this is a good overview of the pace of Quality Online Teaching and Learning 1 Spring 2022 Cohort. Due dates maybe shifted slightly to accommodate holidays and Flex days.

about this Course schedule

We are so happy to have you here to continue the journey of online teaching and learning. It really is a community; folks taking this course tend to support each other, even after it wraps up. The interaction on the discussion boards and Pronto are great ways to help each other.

Everyone is coming in with different skills levels, interests, and backgrounds (kind of like your students). While everyone should complete a course for review, there are lots of curated resources to help experienced folks dig deeper and tutorials for folks who are new to teaching online. If you are already an experienced online educator, we encourage you to experiment and collaborate with others to iterate on your course design.

The online teaching and Canvas training is divided into six units. Each unit is structured such that faculty will complete one unit per week. The estimated time to complete each unit will vary per person, but they are designed to be completed in approximately 4-hours per week. There will be a group of faculty working through the training together in a cohort and some activities require collaboration, so keeping the group in sync with weekly units is the direction that we have decided to take.
