Introduction: In precolonial Philippines, society was organized into small villages called Barangay, led by a chieftain. The community worked together and helped one another, embodying the spirit of Bayanihan. They believed in a supreme god named Bathala, who created the world and held ultimate power. They wrote messages and stories using an ancient script called Baybayin. And, they sought guidance and healing from spiritual leaders called Babaylan, who connected the physical and spiritual worlds. These 5 B's - Barangay, Bayanihan, Bathala, Baybayin, and Babaylan - represent the core values and practices of precolonial Filipino culture, showing a strong sense of community, spirituality, and tradition.
