This site is for Sheffield Hallam University students on the MSc March 2020 Nursing course who are due to go out to placement in August 2020.
This is a collection of learning resources and links that are intended to provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to practice safely and competently whilst out on placement. It should be viewed as an addition to the learning you have gained from the Person Centred Care module and will hopefully allow you to build on skills from the online practical sessions from that module.
In addition there are links and resources to help you when managing, caring for and supporting patients and their families with COVID-19. There are also a range of resources and activities for you to complete to help you look after your own wellbeing.
The resources in this site aim to provide pre and post session learning for the preparatory face to face session that you are invited to attend prior to entering placement.
Each page will be structured to identify what will be covered and what we hope you will learn from the resources and activities.
There are specific self directed sections, sections for you to access before the face to face teaching as well as a range of links and resources for you to revisit and utilise whilst out on placment.
Any sections with required pre sessional learning will have this instruction under the pages main title.
Please ensure you engage with the pre-sessional material before attending the face to face session.
Use the navigation pane on the left to access each of the pages.
Please be aware that as this site is designed for Adult, Child and Mental Health students that not all of the sections may be applicable but you may find them useful to gain knowledge in other fields.
