POLICY
Health and safety policies are written statements that an organization is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all of its stakeholders, including visitors and staff. Construction policies are meant to protect workers' health, safety, and welfare while also encouraging projects to be sustainable and meet high standards.
There are some policies and regulations in the construction industry they are:-
The Health and safety at work act 1974(HSWA):-
It lays out the general duties of employers, workers, and other parties to protect everyone's health, welfare, and safety at work.
It is the major part of the law that governs health and safety at work, including on building sites.
Construction Design and Management 2015(CDM):-
These rules are meant to make health and safety management better during the building part for all projects.
To make sure that health and safety problems are treated correctly, clients, designers, workers, and others must work together and communicate.
Work at height regulations 2005:-
Falls from heights are one of the biggest risks in building, and these rules are meant to keep people from getting hurt.
They require companies to look at the risks of working at heights and put in place the appropriate safety measures, like scaffolding, safety harnesses, and guardrails, to keep workers from falling.
The 2002 Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulation:-
These rules say that employers have to control how much their workers are exposed to dangerous things like chemicals, dust, and fumes on building sites.
Employers who might put their workers near dangerous products need to figure out the risks, set up safety measures, and teach and tell their workers.
Building Regulations:-
These set rules for how buildings should be designed and built, covering things like energy efficiency, accessibility, fire safety, and structural stability.
. Building rules must be followed at all times during work.
Environmental Sustainability Policy:-
There are several steps in the Environmental Sustainability Policy that are meant to support sustainability in the construction industry. These include lowering carbon emissions, making buildings more energy efficient, and reducing trash from construction projects.
Quality Standards:-
Construction companies must follow quality standards and best practices to make sure that buildings and infrastructure are made to a high level and meet user needs.
This includes details about the parts, the work, and the ways to build them.
