In honor of my mom and I's birthday week, y'all are getting a treat! A large part of my vibe is tied to my birthday, so October is obviously the best month of the year. All the women in my family have a birthday in October; my sister's is the 4th, my mom's is the 18th, and mine is the 22nd. This year I am turning 16, and I had to celebrate by getting coffee!
We went to the new Carter's Coffee Bar and the drink I tried is called the Salted Irish Latte. It is described as salted caramel and Irish cream, and it is one of their new fall drinks. My mom also tried and reviewed the White Pumpkin and is made with pumpkin spice syrup and white chocolate.
Salted Irish Latte
Taste- This drink is very sweet and very rich. The Irish cream has a very prominent flavor, but maybe too prominent. I could barely taste the salted caramel, and there was no taste of the coffee. This drink focused on the add-in flavors too much and forgot that it was still a latte. So, 7/10
Price- It was $4.75 for 16oz, which is pretty pricey... 6/10
Quality- This drink was nicely made and not super watery. It went down smoothly, with not a bad aftertaste. 9/10
Aesthetic- There was not much to work with. With no logo on the cup, it was very plain. It is marketed as a speciality fall drink but is just coffee in a clear cup. If you're going for the Emma Chamberlain vibe- it's there, but otherwise... 5/10
Final score: 6.75/10
White Pumpkin
Taste- She (I sometimes give objects pronouns and I don't know why) was very sweet. The drink lacks coffee, similar to the Salted Irish. Mom describes it as a hot milkshake, but could still barely taste the pumpkin over the white chocolate. 5/10
Price- It was $4.25 for 16oz, so same deal... 6/10
Quality- Mom said she could tell it would give her a stomach ache, didn't know if she could finish it. (Spoiler alert! She gave the rest to my brother) 5/10
Aesthetic- This cup was very minimalistic, but it had the logo on the sleeve. The sleeve also had a bit of texture which made it cute. 7/10
Final score: 5.75/10
People may totally disagree, but these were disappointing. I know a lot of people love Carter's Coffee, but I don't think their specialty is coffee. Both drinks were a little overwhelming, and made me a little sad that I didn't like it. (Side note- the wait was also way too long. We were in line for 20 minutes with only three cars in front of us.) Carter's was still an adventure, and trying new drinks is always fun- regardless if the drink isn't great. Have a lovely day :)
