Maryville College Class of 2023
Hello! Welcome to my keyfolio google site! First things first, who am I? My name is Kris Seiber and I am currenty a sophomore at Maryville College. I am majoring in elementary education. I am also in the process of becoming a certified nonprofit professional (CNP). I am also a reciepent of the Frank Newman Civic Fellowship, a national program that promotes leadership and civic engagnment in your community. Most notably is my recieivng of the Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Scholarship, a 4-year long program that requires weekly community service, in-house leadership expolaration and community building. Outside of scholarships and fellowships, I particiapted in the Student Government Association and was a Resident Assistant during my first two years. I then took a deep dive into my passions of community service and children and began serving the underprivileged youth at my local community center.
Post graduation, I plan to go on to get my masters and doctorate degree and begin to work within the education system to help bridge the gap between the current state of education and those who do not have the means or abilities to get the most out of the education they deserve.

In the following pages of my keyfolio, you will find four different subsections with various information on each. The first page is the home page which you are currently on. The second page contains many professional development peices inlcuding my resume, educational philosophy, certifications and education work related peices. As well, both of those pages include InTASC standards that corresponds to the content on those pages.
The entirity of my keyfolio is based upon the InTASC standards. The InTASC standards are the model core teaching standards. To the right is a indepth look at the document itself, and below is broad overview of the general groups and standards.
The Learner and Learning
"Teaching begins with the learner. To ensure that each student learns new knowledge and skills, teachers must understand that learning and developmental patterns vary among individuals, that learners bring unique individual differences to the learning process, and that learners need supportive and safe learning environments."
Content Knowledge
"Teachers must have a deep and flexible understanding of their content areas and be able to draw upon content knowledge as they work with learners to access information, apply knowledge in real world settings, and address meaningful issues to assure learner mastery of the content."
Instructional Practice
"Effective instructional practice requries that teachers understand and integrate assessment, planning, and instructional strategies in coordinated and engaging ways. Beginning with their end or goal, teachers first identify student learning objectives and content standards and align assessments to those objectives. Teachers understand how to design, implement and interpret results from a range of formative and summative assessments."
Professional Responsibility
"Creating and supporting safe, productive learning enviroments that result in learners achieving at the highest levels is a teacher's primary responsibility. To do this well, teachers must engage in meaningful and intensive professional learning and self-renewal by regularly examining practice through ongoing study, self-reflection, and collaboration."
These summaries were pulled from the InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards: A Resource for State Dialogue pages 8 and 9.
