Art Therapy is a guided process that gives access to parts of the brain where emotions are allowed to be expressed to understand complex feelings and find relief from the various challenges life gives us. I am a mental health professional who uses art, media, and the creative process (drawing writing, sculpting, drama, clay, sand, dance, music, and movement) to promote health. You do not need to be artistic to engage in problem-solving differently. Exploring difficult or complex problems and feelings is never easy. Art and play along with psychotherapy are used to support your goals for therapy. I do not interpret your artwork. My role is to companion you, or your child towards individualised meaning-making. The process promotes self-expression and aids personal well-being. This therapy is cost-effective and complements other therapies or medical interventions.
The benefits of therapy include, particularly in children, social skills, emotional regulation, and identifying and expressing emotions.
Ultimately, my goal is to assist you in achieving personal insight, empowering your change, and reaping the benefits of your great work.
