Please review schedules to be sure it includes all core classes: English, Social Studies, Math, Science and PE. If you need it, is your world language on your schedule? What about electives like art and health? Did you fail a course and don't see it on your schedule OR did you pass a course and see it again? You can only take a class once for credit! While not every course you requested will be placed every year, focus on completing graduation requirements and keeping your schedule full with classes to help you explore your interests; both new and familiar.
The PSAT will be administered on 10/18 - DIGITAL administation
The SAT will be administered on 11/8 - DIGITAL administration
Click the test name for registration and test day details. Students are required to bring all needed materials and will be DENIED ADMISSION IF THEY DO NOT HAVE ACCEPTABLE PHOTO ID. Digital and paper tests require different things. Read the information on your admission ticket and the website instructions again the day before your test so you are prepared on test day.
Seniors are approaching the final stages of applying to college(s) as they return to school this fall. To support this goal, we've lined up college admissions representatives from across the country to visit with the Class of 2026 from September to December during all lunch periods. Seniors must register for these small group sessions through Naviance by clicking the Naviance logo in your Google "waffle". This is a fantastic opportunity to put your face to your name on your college application and get your questions answered! DO NOT miss this opportunity.
Click on the "Colleges" tab, then "College Visits" to view the dates and times colleges will be visiting MWHS.
Click "register" to grab a seat for your preferred visit(s).
Then show up to House A, Life Design Lab for your meeting. If you will attend during a class, please complete this form.
If you are a student with testing accommodations as part of a 504 plan, IEP, or as an English Learner, you must request permission from College Board to use your accommodations on any College Board exams (PSAT, AP and SAT). Students seeking accommodations for this upcoming PSAT were instructed to submit their request by College Board's deadline.
Our school can support you in requesting accommodations for future PSAT, SAT & AP exams. As a reminder, students not approved in advance cannot use accommodations on any College Board exam including the PSAT.
Students have so much to learn each year of high school. For that reason, we build up a cumulative Google Classroom full of resources for students exactly when they need them!
Students, be sure you are in your School Counseling Google Classroom to see important information and resources to assist in guiding you through your high school years.
Your School Counselor's Google CALENDAR LINK is also on the classroom for quick scheduling/rescheduling of appointments. You are encouraged to use the calendar link or just stop into your House Office to get a meeting with your School Counselor during a study hall or lunch period. We are here to help!
After all summer school grades are finalized work can begin to calculate official GPA and rank for our current seniors. The cumulative grading data for the entire graduating class is scrutinized so an accurate rank can be determined. Students who attend MWHS for a minimum of four (4) semesters prior to senior year receive a rank and all other graduating students will be co-ranked. A six-semester rank letter will be posted to your portal about the 3rd week of October. Seniors will use this rank on college applications.
A final, seven semester rank will be computed at the end of the first semester of the senior year. This provides the final decision for valedictorian, salutatorian and the top 25. The top 25 will be announced by high school administration in the spring.
It is quick and easy for all students to log into their Naviance account! To explore potential careers, academic majors, and the colleges offering a pathway to your future goals, click on the Naviance logo at the bottom of your Google "waffle" menu.
While every student is welcome to check in with their counselor, we put a special focus on calling all seniors and freshmen into our offices each fall. In addition to our in-class lessons for seniors, we verify that every senior knows their anticipated diploma type and is working towards their specific post-high school goals. Seniors are bubbling over with questions about college, trade school, military, and future employment and we love partnering with them as they work towards their not-too-distant goals! Equally important is the time we spend in our freshmen "Meet & Greets!" Whether in small group or individual meetings, students visit our office to learn where to find us, get comfortable accessing our services and better understand how to partner with us over their high school career. Students may visit their house office to schedule their own appointment or click their counselor's calendar link to grab a time slot. Otherwise, when called to your house office just show up!
Please Note: Counselors listed below in BOLD have students on multiple houses but are located where indicated.
Students partner with their school counselor for the duration of their high school experience. If you have a question or concern, please allow us the courtesy to assist you directly. Counselors are located in their respective house offices. School psychologists, social workers, student assistance counselors, speech therapists and assistant principals are also in house offices.
