Still Too Much to Chew?

  1. Take a smaller bite

  2. Repeat it even more times

  3. Slow it down

  4. Ask for help

14. Rolling Along Example Strategies

  1. Separate and number all 8 measures

  2. Start with the easiest spots! Measure 8 just has one note. Measures 2 & 6 are identical and have the same note repeated. Measure 3 is really easy, too. You don't have to start at the beginning!!

  3. Make a smaller "bite" if needed, for example flutes might practice extra just switching from D to C

  4. Use the "slow" feature on Essential Elements Interactive to slow down the music!

Note: Your notes will look different than these unless you play Flute or Bells!

No matter which instrument you play, the measures, rhythms, and patterns are all the same. Your idea of a "tricky" spot might be different.
