About Ms. Harrison

Ms. Harrison teaches 4th and 5th grade band and lessons as well as 2nd grade music class at Pine Tree Elementary School. She earned her BM in Music Education summa cum laude from the Crane School of Music. She also completed an MA in Ethnomusicology at the Eastman School of Music. At the culmination of her undergraduate studies, Ms. Harrison student taught at Pine Tree and Monroe-Woodbury Middle School, and received the distinction of the Catherine A. English Award for Excellence in Student Teaching. She has been teaching private instrumental lessons for 20+ years and spent several summers as a counselor at Crane Youth Music camp. She is a clarinetist and performs with the Maybrook Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Ms. Harrison was recently awarded the Pine Tree PTA Teacher Appreciation grant to purchase a set of new method books, two SEPTA Mini Grants to purchase adaptive supplies for the band room, as well as the Maya Gold Foundation THRIVE grant to run a series of Ukulele and Songwriting Workshops for teenagers in New Paltz, NY.
