The Mount Vernon School District Teaching, Learning & Leadership Department provides leadership and support to schools achieving the mission of the district to inspire and engage all students in learning to high levels of achievement. The department includes Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment, Staff Development, Digital Literacy and Categorical Programs including Migrant and Bilingual Education.
The Mount Vernon School District uses pd Enroller as the platform to house and register for professional learning events, and to manage and record clock hours. Pd Enroller is the platform used by all 9 ESDs in the state, as well as by OSPI. Staff can link their accounts to EDS and will no longer need to manually upload clock hours into EDS because they will automatically upload once the accounts are linked. Clock hours will become available 24 hours after the course and evaluation are completed.
Below are links to tutorials to familiarize yourself with Pd Enroller:

Technology is found everywhere in our district through the generosity of our community members who support our technology levy. To help you navigate through all these resources is a cadre of technology specialists. Katie Dorr, Technology Instructional Support Specialist, leads the technology support by offering trainings, online tutorials, and modeling in the classroom. Digital Literacy Coaches or DLC are found in each building and are available to support you as you integrate technology into your curriculum. Education Technology Assistants or ETAs are assigned to each building and provide software and hardware support. Overseeing our technology infrastructure is the Technology/Information Systems Department. Technology assistance is available by contacting the Help Desk at X18324 or by placing a work order.

Mount Vernon School District has a comprehensive- year-long Induction for Teachers, Certificated Specialists and Educational Support Associates in the first or second year of their career. The Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) supports the BEST Program so that each new educator is matched with a mentor educator who has participated in mentor training supported by the OSPI BEST Program. The goal of BEST Induction is to support and retain our new educators in order for our district to provide high-quality instruction for all our students. We work to set up our novice educators for success so that our students will be successful.
BEST Induction includes:
One day of orientation on August 14, 2024
Assigned Mentor support for each new educator
Two to Four hours of one-on-one conferring
Classroom support
Monthly New Educator Workshops*
June: Reflection and Reset Professional Learning opportunity
*There are four required workshops for first and second year for educators in their first and second year. Each workshop will address strategies and practices that support the MVSD Racial Equity Policy.
