Foundations is a semester course mostly classroom oriented with some gym incorporated. It follows a curriculum on methods to improve physical fitness throughout a lifetime by showing students ways to develop and maintain active lifestyles that are reasonable and attainable.

Aerobic Activities (Girls only)

Aerobic Activities is a course designed to provide students the opportunity to maintain and improve their personal level of fitness in such areas as cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength and endurance, flexibility and body composition. Students will engage in activities such as team sports, aerobic dance, and weight training that will help them develop and maintain a positive attitude and build a foundation of fitness for life.

PE ITS is a course designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop health-related fitness and an appreciation for teamwork and fair play through participation in a variety of team and individual sports. Aerobic activities combined with individual and group sports are designed to help students develop a strong level of cardiovascular fitness and skills necessary to engage in a variety of aerobic activities that will help them develop and maintain a positive attitude and build a foundation of fitness for life.

Medina Valley offers a variety of competitive sports for both girls and boys. Athletic activities are operated under the guidelines of the University Interscholastic League (UIL). Participation requires approval of the head coach of the respective sport, parent permission, a physical examination by a licensed physician, and maintenance of a satisfactory academic record. Students who participate in these UIL sports may earn a maximum of four credits of PE. Since these athletic teams compete, students must try out for the teams.
