To introduce icons to a 4th grade class, each student was given an icon overview sheet. We reviewed the icons together then student groups were each given two icons. We did a whole class read (What to do with a Problem?) then student groups made posters relating their icons to the story. Groups presented to the class and each student could add their ideas to the discussion.
