Halvah Balls
¼ cup pecans
⅓ cup almonds
4 ounces pitted dates
4 ounces apricots or figs dried
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1-2 tablespoons orange or lemon juice
1-2 teaspoons finely grated lemon zest

Preparation
Finely chop pecans and almonds in a food processor. Transfer to bowl. Halve dates and remove any pit fragments. Add dates, apricots, raisins, and cinnamon to the processor and grind until fairly smooth.
Mix with nuts in a bowl, adding a little juice or water if the mixture is too dry. Stir in grated lemon zest.
Roll fruit mixture between your palms into small balls about 3/4"-1" in diameter. Serve in candy papers. (for distribution in the city we roll it into pencil size logs and cut tiny pieces off for samples.)
