What Do I Need to Know for the First Day of School
All Spangler students begin at 8:30am. (NOTE: new start time for 2026-2027)
NO Supervision (kids on campus) before 8:00am.
Parking is limited; Park in spaces marked "visitor" parking only.
Students should be in uniform daily.
Second Chance Breakfast
8:00 am every school day
Students must walk by themselves to the classroom line in the mornings.
1st-6th is dismissed at 1:21 pm from the first two school days.
Full day begins on Monday, August 17, 2026.
Dismissal will be at 2:46 pm on regular days.
Wednesdays and Minimum days dismissal is 1:21 pm.
Students should ALL have:
STANDARD (full-size) BACKPACK (to hold a 11X18 folder) with their NAME WRITTEN ON THE BACK- Strap Side, not visible from front for safety. NO wheeled backpacks.
WATER BOTTLE with their Name on it, please make sure your child can open/close on their own without leaking. Water fountains are available during recess.
LUNCH BAG with their name clearly labeled if they are planning on bringing their own snack/ lunch to school.
CHANGE OF CLOTHES (top/bottom/underwear/ socks) inside a ZIPLOC to keep in their backpack for emergencies.
Please LABEL ALL BELONGINGS. Many backpacks, lunch boxes, sweaters, etc. look alike. It is much easier to return lost items to students if their name is written on their belongings.

First grade is asking for a one time $50 donation per student for classroom supplies. Donations are tax deductible.
