Welcome to class! I am so excited to have you!
Hello everyone! I am so incredibly excited to be your teacher for this upcoming school year! This is my fourth year teaching but my second year at Spangler Avenue so it will be wonderful to embark on this journey with you all! I look forward to collaborating and growing with you and your student this year!
A little about me, I completed my K-12 education in the Berryessa and East Side Union School District in San Jose. I then went on to graduate from UCLA with my Bachelors in Education and Social Transformation in 2022 and with my Masters in Education in 2024. While there I conducted and presented research to UCLA and California state legislatures on the advancements in the improvement of educational achievement of foster youth and other marginalized communities through the advancement of meaningful community engagement (a topic I am always open to sharing more about with anyone who wants to learn more!) I am very passionate about education and promoting the needs of marginalized communities within and outside of the classroom and work to teach my students to be advocates and leaders in every space that they are in.
I have two dogs (Tiana, Lilo, and Beastie Boy, my beautiful pup who passed last year) and a wonderful pet turtle (Squirt) and I love to hike, cook, read, and crochet whenever I have free time in my schedule! I want to work with you as the families, caregivers, and parents of these wonderful students and I can't wait to see how much we all grow as this year continues!
