PD Resources

Introduction

We are committed to providing ongoing support to our teachers and staff as we transition to an online and extended learning format. On this page we will provide some relevant and recent highlights from trainings for quick reference. These features, in many cases, may also assist parents and students as they navigate some of the online tools we are using such as Zoom, Flipgrid, and SeeSaw.

In addition to this page, we also have a broader list of online resources, online PD modules, and staff led PD on our MURSD Professional Development Website. Please go to http://mursdpd.weebly.com/online-learning.html for the comprehensive list of PD options that are available for faculty and staff.

The MURSD Professional Development Website has three sections:

1. Online learning for teachers/staff that are externally shared and free or limited cost.

2. Internal screencasts/webinars offered by staff to assist in the transition to digital learning

3. Resource page on the best approaches to teaching online.

Zoom Resources

Zoom offers modern communications, with an easy, reliable cloud platform for video and audio conferencing, collaboration, chat, and webinars across mobile devices, desktops, telephones, and room systems.

Screencastify Resources

Screencastify offers educators and students the opportunity to capture their screen, audio and video to share ideas. Users can record and annotate a website or an entire desktop. Screencastify also has built-in webcam access so teachers can be seen while narrating their screencast.

Flipgrid Tutorial.mp4

Flipgrid Resources

Flipgrid offers teachers and students the ability to engage in virtual audio and video discussions asynchronously. Students respond to prompts and then teachers and students can respond to each other for robust conversations that fit into anyone's schedule.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is our learning management system for our middle and high school students. This tool allows teachers and students to share assignments, provide feedback and facilitate discussions all in one platform. Parents also have the option of receiving daily or weekly updates from the course.

Seesaw

Seesaw is a classroom learning management tool used in grades PreK - 7. Students can share creative work in the form of writing, videos, photos, annotations and audio recordings. Student work can be shared amongst the class for peer feedback or kept as a private portfolio for the teacher, students, and the family.
