Elementary Digital Platforms

The following are digital platforms that are currently used in our district at the Elementary Level. This page can serve as a resource to quickly access the platforms by clicking on the images, which are linked directly to the platforms.

Lexia

All of our students have Lexia accounts for reading practice.

IXL

Students have access to IXL for math skill development.

Raz-Kids

Raz- Kids is a reading app the gives students access to more than 400 leveled books with embedded quizzes.

Seesaw

Teachers use Seesaw to communicate with families and share student work. Students can document their learning through writing, audio, video or digital annotations. Students can create portfolios of their learning.

Prodigy Math

Prodigy is a game-based math tool. Students receive adaptive feedback based their answers.

Class Dojo

Teachers use ClassDojo to communicate with families and share student work. Students can document their learning through writing, audio, video or digital annotations. Students can create portfolios of their learning.

Mystery Science

We use Mystery Science lessons for our science lessons at the elementary level. Full and mini-lessons are available that engage students in hands-on science learning.

XtraMath

XtraMath is a digital tool that helps students master basic math facts.

Khan Academy

Khan Academy offers a wide range of video tutorials and practice questions on a range of content areas and topics. A fantastic resource for academic supplemental instruction as well as interest-based learning

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is the student learning platform used by some of our teachers at the elementary level to post assignments and resources for students.

Go Math

Go Math is the math curricular resource for our K-4 students. Students can access their math text as well as practice problems from this link.

General Interest

***MA PBS Learning Media--Free, standards-aligned videos, interactives, lesson plans, curated by WGBH and PBS to support all families. Registration required at no cost.
ABCYA- Free educational children computer games and activities for elementary students to learn on the web.
Wonderopolis- Highly engaging website for students. A question of the day blog that provides answers to frequently asked student questions. Includes texts with a read-to-me function and a paired video.
PBSKids.org- Educational games and videos from PBSKids shows.

ELA/Reading

LearnZillion Writing- offers videos (3-10 min) to instruct on writing and language
Vocabulary/SpellingCity- currently offering free access to the site for the rest of the school year and provides vocabulary and spelling practice.
Rivet- provides open access to 3,5000 leveled books for students.
ReadTheory- Personalized reading comprehension exercises Grades K-12. Registration required at no cost.
Scholastic Learn at Home - up to 20 days worth of reading and projects for students in Grades PreK - 6+.
Vooks-A kid-safe streaming library of read-aloud, animated storybooks grades PK-5

Library/Media

EPIC--This site offers a great variety of books that you can read, that can be read to you and that are also audio books. It is free for educators through June 30th (you can add your students and invite them to your page). If parents sign up on their own, they will get 30 days for free but will then be charged $7.99/month.

Math

Yummy Math-Provides engaging real-world math activities Grades 2-12.
Learn Zillion-Short (3-10 minute) videos intended for teacher and student use that focuses on targeted concepts and skills and is organized by topic.
Investigations- Games for K-5

ST Math -- Interactive game-based math challenges. Free with parent sign up.
Great Minds--They will be posting new math content daily.
Estimation 180 Scavenger Hunt--Game for number sense.

Science

Bill Nye the Science Guy--This website is closely linked to the science information he presents on the TV show. It includes highly engaging information for students.
National Geographic for Kids-This is an online version of the magazine. It includes videos, games, and additional information for students to explore.
Ranger Rick Animals- This website has lots of fun activities and animal information for students with Ranger Rick and Ranger Rick Jr.
Explore.org- a collection of live action cameras, mostly of animals and nature.

Social Studies

Google Street View Gallery- Take a virtual trip to various destinations around the world.

Computer Science

Scratch- With Scratch, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations.
Tynker- This provides an engaging introduction to programming.
