The freezing wind cut through my skin like a knife. Cold and tired, we had been walking for seven days. Half my family is sick, the others starving. We were looking for a new place to build our village, away from our enemies: the people, the wolves, and in this case, myself. I looked up, and there they were, the northern lights overhead. The pain stopped for a minute. I remembered why we left our home. I got in a fight with my sister, Aria. She kicked my family and me from the village, never to return. I shouldn’t have gotten so aggressive, I shouldn’t have broken the necklace Aria got from our mother before she died, but little does she know I accidently killed her…or at least take the blame for her death.
