The CEO – Ms Dymphena Dias (Programme) and Mr. K. Satose (Human Resource and Administration), are responsible for ensuring that the organisation’s environment promotes and nurtures a commitment to research integrity and that suitable processes are in place to deal with misconduct and for ensuring that the correct steps are taken to remedy any situations arising out of an investigation.
The organisation follows the following principles of good research practice:

Our research confirms all ethical, legal and professional obligations.
We use transparent, reliable and fair procedures to report misconduct.
We will continue to monitor and improve the suitability and appropriateness of existing mechanisms when necessary to ensure the integrity of research.
The organisation has a sound mechanism to deal with reports of misconduct and has established a clear ethical approval process for personnel. Through our researcher development program, all academic staff and researchers can obtain research integrity and ethics training.
The Muktangan IEC is constituted to introspect and evaluate Muktangan process and research proposals with a view to ensure sound ethics and quality in research and other processes.
The IEC comprises of nominated members. All appointments to the committee are supervised by the CEO based on recommendations sought from Senior Management Team members, Trustees and the Advisory Board members. Appointment of members to serve on the IEC are held in the first academic semester prior to the commencement of their term of office.
The IEC comprises of representatives from the parent community, teacher fraternity, a priest, a lawyer or advocate and statistician. The committee may co-opt additional members to advise on areas of specific expertise.
Membership to the IEC is for a period of three years and is renewed on completion of tenure for one more year. No membership is renewed more than once. Hence, no member serves in any capacity for more than four years. A member can be re-appointed to the committee after a cooling-off period of at least two consecutive years.
Co-option is for one year at a time and for a maximum period of three successive years. A member can be re-appointed to the co-opted committee after a cooling period of at least two consecutive years.
There are at least two IEC ordinary meetings in a year.
