The Department’s research encompasses domains that the organisation’s core programme is embedded in, i.e. teacher education and learner-centred holistic education for students; although not restricted to. While the organisation diversifies in its model with different process, the department’s research is focused on critical topics in pedagogy and learning outcomes, both cognitive and non-cognitive.
The department strives to stay focused on ethically researching both, testing of innovative practices and testing the organisation’s evolved good practices to deduce theories that would pave the path for advocacy and policymaking in the future.
The use of methodologies to solve specific, practical problems of the community that the organisation and that of its partnering organisations serve, forms the core that provides impetus to drive the departments research initiatives.
The department aims to conduct research to provide the organization and its partners with the capacity to gain an accurate and deeper understanding of the problem or theory being addressed or tested. Through research, the department aims to build a culture of evidence-led discourse and decision-making among other departments and its partnering organizations.
The Department aims to disseminate its findings through research outputs, namely reports, research papers, conference presentations, knowledge partnerships with organizations, and sharing policy briefs with lawmakers in the education ministry in the state and nation.
The department looks forward to opportunities to collaborate with organizations, institutes and universities for research in the education (K to 12 and pre- and in-service teacher education), human resource and economics sector with regard to donor behaviour, women empowerment and education.
